The Extremes

Guestbook

Typhoon (tropical cyclone to be precise) is one of the most attracting natural phenomena I have witnessed. The Central Pacific Ocean far far away is its homeland. Gradually but not slowly, it grows in both strength and size. Soon, it becomes mature enough to fly away (perhaps to be pushed away) from the warm ocean, towards the landmass where it dies eventually.

The 'process' repeats itself for billions of times, millions of years. The interesting point is, tracks may be forecasted, and yet they are unpredictable after all. Complicated as it may sound, but just natural as it is.

Where am I?

I live in Hong Kong, a tiny but popular place in China. The location of Hong Kong, which lies beside the South China Sea (SCS) and situated at the latitude of 22°N, makes it an especially frequent destination for typhoons. Therefore, I am lucky (or else unlucky) enough to have chances to witness their power many a time!
